Fine Tuning preview: 3/17/19

This Sunday on Fine Tuning I'll pay tribute to the legendary session musician Hal Blaine, who died earlier this week at the age of 90. Blaine was a member of the Wrecking Crew, the group of session musicians who in the early 1960s began dominating rock ā€™nā€™ roll recording in Los Angeles. Along with guitarists Glen Campbell and Tommy Tedesco, bassists Carol Kaye and Joe Osborn, and keyboardists Leon Russell and Don Randi, Blaine played drums on thousands of recordings through the mid-1970s, including hit singles by the Beach Boys, Elvis Presley, the Ronettes, the Association, the Byrds, the 5th Dimension, Simon & Garfunkel and Herb Alpert. Fine Tuning: Sundays from 4 to 6 p.m. on ann arbor's 107one.
