Chocolate and Racing - does it get any better than this?

Hope you'll stop by the fine chocolate shop Schakolad tomorrow (that's Friday, 7/28) between 11am and 1pm, as I'll be behind the counter helping owner Scott and the gang celebrate the store's 3rd anniversary. If you're one of the 1st 50 people to stop by and say the secret words 'Savoy Truffle' to me or anyone behind the counter, you're receive one of their exquisite chocolate truffles for free! There will also be a free chocolate fountain, into which you can dip a fresh strawberry, pretzel or marshmallow - yum. Schakolad is at Washington and Main in downtown Ann Arbor...
Then there's the Firestone Indy 400 IRL race this weekend at the Michigan International Speedway. All week we've been giving away weekend passes to the race, which includes qualifying on Saturday and the main event this Sunday. We'll give away our final tickets tomorrow morning on my show, then we'll do a grand prize drawing where one lucky person will have their picture taken with the winner of the race - a once in a lifetime opportunity!

Thanks one and all....

...to everyone who made last Thursday's Top of the Park with hometown heroes Tally Hall such a roaring success! A huge crowd turned out on a picture perfect evening to cheer on the Ann Arbor quintet, who put on a terrific show, closing out with a version of Fat Boy Slim's "Praise."

Big thanks as well to the many folks who made it out to the 107one beer tasting at Ypsi's Corner Brewery last Friday! Check out Matt and Rene Greff's incredible new microbrewery if you haven't already done so - it's in an old industrial building that they have beautifully refurbished.
The beer, of course, is fantastic as well...

Tally Hall / Corner Brewery events

Hope everybody had a fantastic 4th of July holiday!

We've got 2 major events coming up quickly this week. 1st of all, you are all cordially invited to tomorrow night's free concert featuring homegrown heroes Tally Hall. 107one presents Tally Hall and very special guests Ludo at Top of the Park, in its new location on the steps of the Horace Rachham grad school on Washington Street. The weather should be picture perfect, so we're hoping for a big, big crowd!

Next up is the first-ever 107one beer tasting at the new Corner Brewery in Ypsilanti, which will take place this Friday, July 7. The Brewery is owned and operated by Matt and Rene Greff, who also run the Arbor Brewing Co. right in Ann Arbor. Matt and Rene's newly-opened facility is at Norris and Forest in Ypsi, just north of Depot Town. I'll be hosting this Friday's beer tasting, which will run from 7-9pm. It is a truly incredible place, a huge historic building with tons of windows and exposed brickwork. Matt and Rene will be serving all 6 of the delicious beers that they brew right on-site, plus they'll be serving some delicious appetizers.
Tickets are $15, available at the door. Listen the rest of this week to 107one to win tickets to the tasting. More info at cornerbrewery.com or 734-480-2739.
