Fine Tuning Preview: 5/28/17

This Sunday on Fine Tuning I'll feature a set of songs from bands based out of Manchester, England, a deeply musical city hit by a despicable terror attack last Monday. My thoughts and prayers go out to those killed and injured at Manchester Arena. I will also play songs from the 50th (!) Anniversary super deluxe reissue of The Beatles' "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band," and in the album spotlight I'll feature "The Nashville Sound," by Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit. Fine Tuning: 4 - 6 p.m. Sundays on ann arbor's 107one

Fine Tuning preview: 5/21/17

This Sunday on Fine Tuning I'll pay tribute to Chris Cornell, whose tragic death in Detroit this week has shaken and shocked music fans around the world. In the album spotlight will be "Black Irish," the captivating new release from the bluesy/rootsy singer-songwriter Shannon McNally. Fine Tuning Preview: 5/14/17

This Sunday on Fine Tuning I'll interview Ian Hunter, the legendary English singer-songwriter best known as the lead vocalist of Mott the Hoople. Ian Hunter and the Rant Band play a concert at the Ark on Monday, May 15. In the album spotlight will be "Country Hustle," the captivating new release from vocalist Jeb Loy Nichols, plus I'll feature new tunes from the National and Shannon McNally. Fine Tuning preview: 5/7/16

This Sunday in the album spotlight on Fine Tuning will be "Sad Clowns & Hillbillies," the new studio release from John Mellencamp. The album features notable contributions from vocalist Carlene Carter, the daughter of June Carter Cash and stepdaughter of Johnny Cash.
