Fine Tuning preview: 4/28/19

This Sunday in the album spotlight on Fine Tuning I'll feature "Silences," the second studio effort by Nashville-based singer-songwriter Adia Victoria. Adia specializes in gothic blues and will be performing at Bank of Ann Arbor's Sonic Lunch concert series on Thursday, June 27. Also in the mix this Sunday will be birthday tributes to Duke Ellington and James Brown, plus new music by Nick Lowe. Fine Tuning: Sundays from 4 - 6 p.m. on ann arbor's 107one.

Fine Tuning preview: 4/21/19

This Sunday in the album spotlight on Fine Tuning I'll be featuring "Absolute Zero," the exceptionally inventive new studio release by Bruce Hornsby, best known for his 1986 hit "The Way It Is." Hornsby's latest album features contributions from Bon Iver's Justin Vernon, classical chamber group yMusic and legendary jazz drummer Jack DeJohnette. Also in the mix will be birthday tributes to Iggy Pop & Charles Mingus, plus Easter Sunday selections from Aretha Franklin's "Amazing Grace" album --- and I'm so thrilled to see that the "Amazing Grace" documentary has FINALLY opened in theaters! Fine Tuning preview: 4/14/19

Cinematic Orchestra are a symphonic electronica band with a lush, evocative & atmospheric sound. Led by British musician Jason Swinscoe, the Cinematic Orchestra's first studio release in twelve years, "To Believe," will be in the album spotlight on Fine Tuning this Sunday. Fine Tuning preview: 4/7/19

This Sunday in the album spotlight on Fine Tuning I'll be featuring "Side Effects," the latest release from the Austin, Texas indie-rock band White Denim. The Financial Times says that "Side Effects" is as good a rock album as you'll hear this year --- and I couldn't agree more! Also in the mix will be birthday tributes to jazz legend Billie Holiday and Lowell George, the chief songwriter, guitarist and vocalist of Little Feat.
