Fine Tuning preview: 9/26/21

This Sunday on Fine Tuning I'll feature Bob Dylan's "Springtime in New York: The Bootleg Series Vol.16." Dylan's latest focuses on the years 1980 through 1985, and includes dozens of previously unreleased songs, many featuring Mick Taylor and Mark Knopfler on guitar. Also in the mix will be a 76th birthday tribute to Roxy Music leader Bryan Ferry. Fine Tuning: Sundays from 4 to 6 p.m. on ann arbor's 107one.

Fine Tuning preview: 9/19/21

This Sunday on Fine Tuning I'll feature "Dark Matters," the first studio album in nine years by the Stranglers. "Dark Matters" is dedicated to Dave Greenfield, the band's keyboardist for forty-five years, who died in May of 2020 of COVID-19. Dave is featured on eight of the album's eleven songs, and he has never sounded better than he does here. Also in the mix will be new music from Jose Gonzalez, Johnny Marr and Steve Gunn, plus I'll have a birthday tribute to the late, great Leonard Cohen. This Sunday on Fine Tuning I'll be featuring "Love Will Be Reborn," the first album in five years from singer-songwriter Martha Wainwright. Martha is from a family of major musicians --- her parents are Loudon Wainwright III and Kate McGarrigle, and her brother is Rufus Wainwright! Also in the mix will be a birthday tribute to jazz legend Cannonball Adderley, plus tracks from Los Lobos, Dr. Lonnie Smith (featuring Iggy Pop), Adia Victoria and Bill Withers.
