Fine Tuning preview: 7/4/21

This Sunday on the July 4th edition of Fine Tuning I'll be featuring "The Waylon Sessions," am impressive collection of Waylon Jennings covers done by singer-guitarist Shannon McNally. Fine Tuning preview: 6/27/21

This Sunday on Fine Tuning I'll spotlight "Quietly Blowing It," the new release by Hiss Golden Messenger, one of the strongest collections of songs yet from MC Taylor & company. Also in the mix will be selections from "Joni Mitchell Blue 50," an EP of demos and outtakes from her classic "Blue" album, which came out fifty years ago in June of 1971. Fine Tuning preview: 6/20/21

Radiohead, Kanye West, Wire, Sonic Youth, Spoon and David Bowie are just a few of the musicians who have been influenced by the experimental German rock band Can. This Sunday on Fine Tuning I'll spotlight "Live in Stuttgart 1975," a previously unreleased concert recording made during Can's heyday and remastered by founding member Irmin Schmidt and the band’s longtime producer Rene Tinner. Also in the mix will be birthday tributes to Ray Davies of the Kinks (who turns 77 on June 21) and Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys (who turns 79 on June 20). This Sunday on Fine Tuning I'll feature "Delta Kream," the new studio release by the Black Keys, which features Dan Auerbach & Patrick Carney covering hill country blues songs. Also in the mix will be birthday tributes to Paul McCartney (turning 79 on June 18th), Harry Nilsson (June 15th would've been his 80th birthday), and Nick Drake (who would've turned 73 on June 19th).
