I've just about recovered from The Stooges show last Friday at the Fox in Detroit - hard to believe how vital the band's vocalist Iggy Pop is after all these years. He's celebrating his 60th birthday this month, but it only took all of 3 songs before he was diving off the Fox's stage into the crowd.
Admirably backed-up by the other surviving Stooges (Ron Asheton, guitar; Scott 'Rock Action' Asheton, drums; Steve Mckay, saxophone) along with newer recruit Mike Watt on bass, Ann Arbor's finest sounded fantastic throughout their hour and a half long performance - magnificent, dangerous, ballistic rock & roll.
