Fine Tuning preview: 3/29/15

Today at 4 p.m. on Fine Tuning I'll start off the show with music from the sensational Australian vocalist/guitarist Courtney Barnett, who is drawing across-the-board rave reviews for her full-length debut album "Some I Sit and Think,  and Sometimes I Just Sit." Also in the mix will be a birthday tribute to the legendary Marvin Gave (he would have been turning 76 this coming Wednesday), plus tracks from Laura Marling's just released album "Short Movie."

Fine Tuning preview: 3/22/15

This Sunday on Fine Tuning I'll be featuring "Carrie & Lowell," the much anticipated new album by indie-folk icon Sufjan Stevens --- his first release in about five years. Also in the mix will be the latest from Modest Mouse, Courtney Barnett, and Shelby Lynne, plus a 50th anniversary tribute to Bob Dylan's masterpiece "Bringing It All Back Home," which was released on March 22, 1965:

Fine Tuning preview: 3/15/15

Coming up today on Fine Tuning I'll get things started with tunes from Sly & the Family Stone, Marvin Gaye and Deee-Lite.  Then we'll spotlight songs from vocalist Nellie McKay's fun new album of 60s rock and pop covers, "My Weekly Reader."  Also in the mix will be the latest from Sufjan Stevens, James McMurtry and some classic Bo Diddley.  Fine Tuning, 4-6 p.m. on arbors 107one, WQKL-FM.

Fine Tuning preview: 3/8/15

This Sunday on Fine Tuning I'll be featuring new music from singer-songwriter James McMurtry, the son of novelist Larry McMurtry.  James' just-released album "Complicated Game" is his first studio effort in almost seven years.  Also in the mix will be music from guitarist Bill Frisell, who is in Ann Arbor next week for two concerts at the Lydia Mendelssohn Theatre.  Fine Tuning, Sundays from 4-6 p.m. on ann arbor's 107one.
