Fine Tuning preview: 5/29/22

I've got something truly special for you this Sunday on Fine Tuning! Ever since I started at 107one in 2007 I've been a major fan of singer-songwriter Chris Bathgate and his poetic, beautiful songs, and I'm delighted to feature him on the program this weekend. In the album spotlight I'll have "The Significance of Peaches," his first studio recording in five years, plus I'll have an interview I did with Chris just a few days ago. Fine Tuning preview: 5/22/22

This Sunday on Fine Tuning I'll feature the Rolling Stones' "El Mocambo 1977," their sensational small venue live recording that's never been issued before in its entirety. The Stones' only concerts in 1977 took place over two nights in Toronto when they played the 300-person capacity El Mocambo club before enthralled fans. The band roars through classics "Route 66," "Around and Around" and "Little Red Rooster," and also shines on "All Down the Line," "Rip This Joint" and "Hot Stuff." Also in the mix will be a birthday tribute to Bob Dylan, who turns 81 on May 24th. Fine Tuning: Sundays from 4 to 6 p.m. on ann arbor's 107one.

Fine Tuning preview: 5/15/22

This Sunday on Fine Tuning I'll be featuring "Dropout Boogie," the new album from the Black Keys. Named in honor of a 1967 song by Captain Beefheart & The Magic Band, the eleventh studio recording by Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney features a guest appearance by Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top. This Sunday on Fine Tuning I'll be featuring the new Arcade Fire album "We," plus I'll do birthday tributes to Donovan and Eric Burdon. Also in the mix will be new songs by Sunflower Bean and tracks from the newly reissued "Nancy & Lee" album, originally released in 1968 by Nancy Sinatra & Lee Hazlewood.
