Fine tuning preview: 8/2/20

This Sunday on Fine Tuning I'll pay tribute to the brilliant guitarist, songwriter and singer Peter Green, who co-founded Fleetwood Mac and wrote such classics as "Black Magic Woman," "Oh Well" and "The Green Manalishi (With the Two Prong Crown). Fine Tuning preview: 7/26/20

This Sunday in the album spotlight on Fine Tuning I'll feature "10:20," the latest release from the essential and influential British quartet Wire. On their second album of 2020, Wire breathes new life into old songs and finds room for tracks that were left off previous albums. Also in the mix will be birthday tributes to Mick Jagger (who turns 77 on Sunday), Kate Bush (turning 62 next Thursday) and Jerry Garcia (who would'be been 78 on Aug. 1). Fine Tuning preview: 7/19/20

This Sunday in the album spotlight on Fine Tuning I'll feature "The Waterfall II," the new release by My Morning Jacket. Recorded at the same time as the tracks on MMJ's 2015 album "The Waterfall," the songs here are no mere B-sides. Fine Tuning preview: 7/12/20

This Sunday on Fine Tuning I'll be featuring a 40th anniversary tribute to Joy Division's second and final studio album "Closer," which was originally issued on July 18, 1980. Also in the mix will be a birthday tribute to Stooges guitarist Ron Asheton (next Friday would've been his 72nd birthday), plus I'll put "Mutable Set" by producer and songwriter Blake Mills in the album spotlight. Fine Tuning preview: 7/5/20

This Sunday in the album spotlight on Fine Tuning I'll feature "Saint Cloud," the fifth studio reording by Waxahatchee, the recording alias of singer-songwriter Katie Crutchfield. Also in the mix will be a previously unreleased version of "You Don't Know How It Feels," from the long-awaited reissue of Tom Petty's 1994 album "Wildflowers," plus new music by Bruce Hornsby and Norah Jones.
