Fine Tuning Preview: 7/31/16

Lots happening on Fine Tuning this Sunday! I'll be featuring the new Creedence Clearwater Revival tribute album 'Quiero Creedence,' which features Los Lobos, Ozomatli & Los Lonely Boys, plus I'll feature many songs from ex-Roxy Music vocalist Bryan Ferry (below), back in Michigan next Thursday at the Fox for his first Michigan show in over a decade. That plus new music from Sharon Jones and a tribute to iconic photographer and Andy Warhol archivist Billy Name, who took the iconic cover photos for two of the Velvet Underground's albums. Fine Tuning Preview: 7/24/16

This Sunday on Fine Tuning I'll be featuring songs from the new Chris Robinson Brotherhood album 'Anyway You Love, We Know How You Feel,' the 4th release from the former lead vocalist of the Black Crowes. Also in the mix will be birthday tributes to Kate Bush and Mick Jagger (pictured) --- Kate turns 58 on July 30, and Mick turns 73 on July 26. Fine Tuning: 4 - 6 p.m. Sundays on 107one.

Fine Tuning Preview: 7/10/16

This Sunday on Fine Tuning I'll be previewing the 9th Don Was Detroit All-Star Revue, happening July 16th as part of the Concert of Colors, Metro Detroit's Annual Diversity Festival. I'll also be featuring the new album 'By Default' by British rock trio Band of Skulls, and tunes from Motown legend Smokey Robinson (pictured), who will receive the Library of Congress' Gershwin Prize this fall. Fine Tuning Preview: 7/3/16

This Sunday on Fine Tuning I'll celebrate America's birthday by featuring 'American Tunes,' the final album by the masterful New Orleans musician Allen Toussaint (pictured), who died last November at the age of 77. Also in the mix will be American tunes by James Brown ('Living In America') and David Bowie (his incredible live version of Simon & Garfunkel's 'America'). And I'll pay tribute to three more great musicians we've lost in the last few days: Bernie Worrell, Sir Mack Rice, and Scotty Moore. Fine Tuning: 4 - 6 p.m. Sundays on 107one.
