Fine Tuning preview

I’ll be back this Sunday (New Year’s Day) at 4pm with a new edition of Fine Tuning. I’ll be paying tribute to the ‘barefoot diva’ Cesaria Evora, who died just before Christmas at the age of 70. I have incredibly fond memories of Cesaria, the Grammy-winning vocalist from the Cape Verde islands off the coast of West Africa, and was very saddened to hear she passed.  In addition to the Cesaria Evora tribute I'll feature new music from John Cale, one of the founding members of the Velvet Underground.

Fine Tuning preview: 12/11/11

This Sunday at 4pm on Fine Tuning I'll continue my longtime holiday tradition of playing Vince Guaraldi's timeless "Charlie Brown Christmas" album in its entirety.  Plus I'll be spinning the new Black Keys CD "El Camino" and doing a tribute to blues guitarist Hubert Sumlin, who passed away last Sunday at the age of 80.

Fine Tuning was on vacation last Sunday, but we're back in action today with more from the beautiful new Kate Bush album "50 Words For Snow," plus a 91st (!) birthday tribute to the incomparable jazz pianist Dave Brubeck.
