This Sunday on Fine Tuning I'll be paying tribute to soul singer Sharon Jones (pictured), who died on Nov. 18 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. Fine Tuning Preview: 11/13/16

This Sunday on Fine Tuning I'll be devoting over an hour of my program to the music of Leonard Cohen, who died on Thursday at the age of 82. Also in the mix will be some post-election songs of healing & reflection from Bruce Springsteen, John Lennon, Marvin Gaye and American Music Club, and in the album spotlight will be 'Eternally Even,' the new solo album from My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James. Fine Tuning Preview: 11/6/16

This Sunday on Fine Tuning I'll be paying tribute to some notable Scorpios who are celebrating birthdays next week --- Joni Mitchell, Neil Young & Booker T. Jones (of Booker T. & the M.G.'s). In the album spotlight will be 'Rich Man,' the fourth studio album by top-shelf session guitarist and vocalist Doyle Bramhall II. And also in the mix will be tunes from Hiss Golden Messenger (in concert this Monday at the Loving Touch in Ferndale) & the Stooges (the great new Stooges documentary 'Gimme Danger,' directed by Jim Jarmusch, opens today at the Michigan Theater).
