Fine Tuning preview: 6/25/17
This Sunday in the album spotlight on Fine Tuning I'll be featuring "There Is No Calamity," the superb new album from veteran singer-songwriter Peter Himmelman, produced by my friend Steve Berlin of Los Lobos. Also in the mix will be everything from Spoon to Duke Ellington. Fine Tuning: 4 - 6 p.m. Sundays on ann arbor's 107one. After this Sunday's program, Fine Tuning will be on hiatus until I return from a medical leave that begins Monday, June 26.

Also in the mix will be birthday tributes to Paul McCartney (turning 75 on Sunday), Ray Davies (turning 73 next Wednesday) & Jeff Beck (turning 73 on June 24). This Sunday on Fine Tuning I'll be featuring songs from Rhiannon Giddens and Joe Jackson, who headline separate concerts in Ann Arbor soon. Rhiannon, a founding member of the blues & country group Carolina Chocolate Drops, performs next Wed., June 14 at Power Center as part of the Ann Arbor Summer Festival. This Sunday on Fine Tuning I'll be featuring "Waiting On A Song." the new solo album from Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys. I'll also pay tribute to Gregg Allman of the Allman Brothers Band, and in the mix will be new songs from Arcade Fire, The War On Drugs, plus more from the 50th anniversary reissue of the Beatles' "Sgt.
