This Sunday on Fine Tuning I'll be featuring the new release "Not Dark Yet," the first time Shelby Lynne and her sister Allison Moorer have recorded an album together. It's an impressive collection of cover songs (Bob Dylan, Nick Cave, Jason Isbell, etc.) plus one powerful track co-written by Lynne and Moorer ("Is It Too Much). Also in the mix will be new music by the Blind Boys of Alabama, Gregg Allman, Lucinda Williams & Neil Young. Fine Tuning: 4 - 6 p.m. Sundays on 107one

I can't begin to tell you how happy I am to be back on the air this week after recovering from my heart surgery in late June! This Sunday will be my first Fine Tuning program since my medical leave of absence and I've got a lot of ground to cover. In the album spotlight will be "Dark Matter," the first album in some nine years by the legendary singer-songwriter-pianist Randy Newman. I'll also pay tribute to music icon Glen Campbell, who died last Tuesday at the age of 81. And in the mix as well will be new tracks from Arcade Fire, the Chris Robinson Brotherhood, Low Cut Connie, Steve Winwood, Waxahatchee and JD McPherson. Fine Tuning: 4 - 6 p.m. Sundays on ann arbor's 107one.
