This Sunday in the album spotlight on Fine Tuning I'll be featuring "If You're Going to the City: A Tribute To Mose Allison." This very cool tribute to the legendary jazz-blues pianist and singer-songwriter includes Fiona Apple, Elvis Costello, Ben Harper, Frank Black of the Pixies, Peter Case, Iggy Pop and Chrissie Hynde. This Sunday in the album spotlight on Fine Tuning will be "The Gospel According to Water," the new release from singer-songwriter-producer Joe Henry. Joe wrote and recorded most of the material on his poignant, poetic new album after a life-changing health crisis earlier this year. Also in the mix will be new songs by Beck, Coldplay, Leonard Cohen & Sarah Harmer, plus tunes from Grammy Award nominees Andrew Bird, Robert Randolph, Black Pumas and Madison Cunningham. The Kinks will be in the album spotlight this Sunday on Fine Tuning! I'll feature songs from the 50th anniversary deluxe reissue of their classic 1969 release "Arthur (Or the Decline and Fall of the British Empire)." his Sunday in the album spotlight on Fine Tuning I'll feature "Three Chords & The Truth," the latest studio album from the legendary Van Morrison. Also in the mix will be a birthday tribute to blues-jazz great Mose Allison (he would've turned 92 on Nov. 11), plus I'll play songs by White Denim, the Cinematic Orchestra and Hiss Golden Messenger --- all three bands playing concerts in the area within the next week.
