Fine tuning preview: 11/1/20

This Sunday on Fine Tuning I'll be featuring the new Elvis Costello album "Hey Clockface," and I'll also do a 77th birthday tribute to Joni Mitchell (born Nov. 7, 1943) that will include tracks from the brand new box set "Archives Vol. 1: The Early Years (1963-1967)." This extraordinary five-disc collection includes a live concert that Joni played at Ann Arbor's Canterbury House in 1967. Fine Tuning: Sundays from 4 to 6 p.m. on ann arbor's 107one.

Fine tuning preview: 10/25/20

This Sunday on Fine Tuning I'll be featuring the deluxe edition reissue of the self-titled debut album by the Austin, Texas duo Black Pumas. The reissue includes three new songs along with cover version of the Beatles' "Eleanor Rigby," Tracy Chapman's "Fast Car," and much more. Also in the mix will be new songs by Rosanne Cash and Laura Veirs, plus I'll pay tribute to Spencer Davis, who died last Monday at the age of 81. Fine Tuning preview: 10/18/20

This Sunday in the album spotlight on Fine Tuning I'll dive into "Wildflowers & the Rest," the reissue of Tom Petty's classic 1994 "Wildflowers" album. Petty originally recorded some 25 songs that he wanted to release on two CDs, but pruned down the project to a single, 15-song album. At long last we get to hear the equally brilliant songs left off the original album, plus home recordings, alternative studio versions and live recordings. This is truly the most important reissue of 2020! That plus new music from Stevie Wonder and Lana Del Rey, and birthday tributes to Chuck Berry and Steve Cropper. Fine Tuning preview: 10/4/20

This Sunday on Fine Tuning I'll be doing a big birthday tribute to John Lennon, who would've turned 80 on October 9th. In the album spotlight I'll feature "Bare As Bone, Bright As Blood," the final album by the Pretty Things, plus I'll play new tracks by Andrew Bird, Tom Petty and Lake Street Dive.
