Fine Tuning preview: 7/28/24

This Sunday on Fine Tuning I'll have a retro album spotlight featuring tunes from "Rejuvenation," a milestone of funk music by the Meters, released 50 years ago in July 1974. Also in the mix will be tributes to two musical geniuses who passed away this week: Duke Fakir of the Four Tops and British blues-master John Mayall. Fine Tuning preview: 7/21/24

This Sunday on Fine Tuning I'll be featuring "Passage du Desir," the new release from Johnny Blue Skies (aka Sturgill Simpson). This album is deservedly receiving rave reviews, with Pitchfork saying that Sturgill expertly balances cosmic and outlaw country and reintroduces himself as the premier Nashville outsider.
