Fine Tuning preview: 2/23/25

This Sunday on Fine Tuning I'll be featuring "Phonetics On and On," the new studio album by the Chicago indie-rock band Horsegirl. Already receiving rave reviews from The Guardian, The Wall Street Journal and Paste Magazine, this album has influences that range from the Velvet Underground to Young Marble Giants to the Raincoats. Also in the mix will be new music by Hurray for the Riff Raff, plus birthday tributes to Johnny Cash and George Harrison. Fine Tuning: Sundays from 4 to 6 p.m. on ann arbor's 107one.

Fine Tuning preview: 2/16/25

This Sunday on Fine Tuning I'll be featuring the new self-titled album by Sharon Van Etten & The Attachment Theory, her 7th studio release and her best to date. I won't be surprised to see this one on a lot of 2025 best of lists at the end of the year (including mine!). Also in the mix will be a major birthday tribute to the iconic Smokey Robinson, who turns 85 on February 19th. Fine Tuning: Sundays from 4 to 6 p.m. on ann arbor's 107one.

Fine Tuning preview: 2/9/25

This Sunday on Fine Tuning I'll be featuring Iggy Pop's "Live at Montreux 2023" album, which includes incendiary versions of familiar songs ("Lust for Life," "The Passenger") as well as deep catalogue gems ("Five Foot One," "Endless Sea").
